Meet Helen Jiang | Stelliers Greater China 2025 Unsung Hero Finalist

With almost 10 years of service at Mandarin Oriental, Sanya, Helen Jiang (姜广芝) has become a true guardian of comfort and care for her colleagues. As Dormitory Attendant, her role may be behind the scenes, but her impact is felt every day, ensuring that every colleague feels at home away from home.

Since joining in December 2015, Helen has taken meticulous care of the dormitory’s hygiene and safety, creating a warm, welcoming environment where colleagues can rest, recharge, and feel genuinely cared for. Most of the team members living in the dormitory come from different parts of China, and when they are away, Helen looks after their rooms, opens windows daily for fresh air, and tends to their plants — small details that make a big difference.

Deeply respected and loved by everyone, Helen’s humble spirit and ever-present smile have made her a symbol of Mandarin Oriental’s culture of genuine hospitality. Through her care, she enables others to give their best to guests, proving that true excellence often begins behind the scenes.

Helen Jiang - Doomitory Administrator

Hello, my name is Jiang Guangzhi. At the Mandarin Oriental, Sanya. I work as a doomitory administrator.  I joined the hotel in December 2015, I have been working in the hotel for nearly 10 years. My main responsibility is to maintain the daily cleanliness and safety of the dormitory. I appreciate the culture of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, which prioritises our colleagues’ work and life experiences, placing that at the forefront of everything we do. For me, the hotel dormitory is a home for colleagues in Sanya. This home should be warm and considerate so that colleagues can fully devote themselves to work and provide legendary service to guests.

Sanitation and safety of the dormitory are of primary importance. In my daily work, I pay special attention to hygiene details and check for potential safety hazards. When colleagues come back from work, their first impression is a clean and tidy "home". Most of the colleagues living in the dormitory are from other provinces and cities. When they go home on vacation, they will entrust me to take care of their rooms. When cleaning, I will make sure to open the windows for ventilation every day and check the condition of the green plants.

When colleagues are sick, they particularly miss home and worry about work. At such critical times, I need to take more considerate care of them, delivering three meals a day to their rooms, helping them collect packages, and reminding them to take medicine on time. This way, they can recover as soon as possible and return to work.

In daily interactions with colleagues, I feel time passes very quickly. Having worked at the hotel for almost 10 years, I will continue to strive and constantly create MOwow surprises for my colleagues, to ensure that they enjoy the warmth and happiness of being at home in Sanya.
