Unexpected Lessons with Melody Tsai
Melody’s hospitality career began at InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) in Taipei, where she started as a Sales & Marketing Management Trainee. This experience laid a solid foundation for her expertise in hotel commercial operations and marketing. She later joined Preferred Hotels Group and Shangri-La Group in Mainland China, where she continued to deepen her professional capabilities in sales and commercial marketing.
In 2018, Melody joined Minor Hotels, marking the beginning of a new chapter at the corporate level. Since joining the group, she has risen from Regional Director of Sales to her current role, where she oversees the commercial strategy and overall business development for Greater China.
She leads the region’s global sales and brand marketing teams, with a strong focus on integrated marketing strategies for luxury hotels, high-end wellness and lifestyle experience marketing, as well as strengthening the brand’s positioning and growth across both inbound and outbound markets.
Melody is also deeply involved in new brand development and market entry initiatives in China, continuously driving Minor Hotels’ localisation efforts and long-term strategic growth in the region.
