The Business of Sleep: A Leadership Dinner with Wellcare
Sleep has always been central to the hotel experience, but it is now becoming part of a broader conversation around wellbeing, recovery, and personalisation.
Last Friday in Shanghai, Stelliers and Wellcare brought together a group of hospitality leaders to dine at Le Comptoir de Pierre Gagnaire at the Capella Shanghai, Jian Ye Li hotel.
Among the ideas introduced that evening was a simple but increasingly relevant one: what if sleep could become one of the most defining elements of the guest experience?

The evening began with a cocktail reception before guests moved into an intimate four-course dinner, a setting designed for conversation rather than presentation.
Opening remarks by Stéphane de Montgros and Xu Kang set the tone, bringing together perspectives from both hospitality and sleep innovation.
Around the table, conversations moved easily across topics shaping the industry today, from operating realities in Greater China to evolving guest expectations and how brands continue to define value.

Wellness and sleep formed part of that discussion, alongside a wider shift toward more considered, experience-led stays.

For Stelliers, these hotel leadership dinners reflect what matters most: creating space for the industry to connect beyond the stage.
Our thanks to the team at Capella Shanghai, Jian Ye Li for hosting us, to Wellcare for the continued support, and to all who joined the evening and contributed to the conversation.
In a rapidly evolving industry, it is often these seemingly effortless evenings that allow human connections and conversations to quietly move the industry forward.
