Rest, Recovery and the Guest Experience: Stelliers x Wellcare Hotel Leadership Dinner in Macau
A good night’s sleep may be one of the most fundamental expectations of any hotel stay. Yet as guest priorities continue to evolve, sleep is increasingly becoming part of a broader conversation around wellbeing, recovery, personalisation and the overall hospitality experience.
On 28 August, Stelliers and Silver Partner Wellcare brought this conversation to Macau, hosting an intimate Hotel Leadership Dinner at Grill 58, MGM COTAI. The evening brought together leading hoteliers from across the city, representing both hotel leadership and operations, for an opportunity to connect with peers and explore how innovation in sleep can contribute to a more meaningful guest experience.
Bringing Sleep Innovation to Hospitality
MGM COTAI provided a fitting setting for the discussion. Selected rooms at the property are already equipped with Wellcare Smart Mattresses, offering a real-world example of how sleep technology can be thoughtfully integrated into a luxury hospitality environment.
The evening began with a cocktail reception, giving guests the opportunity to reconnect and meet fellow hospitality leaders before taking their seats for dinner. Stéphane de Montgros, Co-Founder of Stelliers, officially welcomed guests and reflected on the evening, as well as Stelliers’ continued partnership with Wellcare.
Following a short introductory video, Jockey Xu, General Manager of Wellcare, shared more about the company’s approach to sleep and its ambitions within the hotel market.
From there, the evening moved naturally from presentation to conversation. Around the table, guests discussed the realities of hotel operations, the evolving expectations of today’s travellers, the role of technology across the guest journey, and the growing importance of sleep and recovery as part of a more considered hotel experience.
From Innovation to Impact
Bringing together leaders from both management and operations added another dimension to the conversation. While new technology may begin with an idea or a product, its true value in hospitality ultimately depends on how seamlessly it can be implemented, experienced by guests and supported by hotel teams.
The setting at Grill 58 brought its own sense of theatre to the evening. Throughout dinner, Chef Basil Yu joined guests tableside to introduce and showcase selected dishes, creating memorable culinary moments and adding another layer of interaction to the experience.
It was an evening shaped by many of the elements Stelliers values most: great hospitality, meaningful conversation and the opportunity to connect people across the industry in a setting where ideas and relationships can develop naturally.
Our sincere thanks to the team at MGM COTAI and Grill 58 for hosting us so warmly, to Chef Basil Yu and his team for an exceptional culinary experience, to Wellcare for their continued partnership and support, and, most importantly, to all the hoteliers who joined us around the table.
As hospitality continues to evolve, some of the most meaningful conversations may begin with something wonderfully simple: how can we help our guests rest better?
